Welcome
The Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre (CTPCLC) aims to nurture Singapore’s next generation of community leaders. Our programme is open to all NUS undergraduates who are passionate about addressing social and community challenges in Singapore. As a CTPCLC student, you will be exposed to a range of community development modules that will hone intellectual and practical skills that form an essential toolkit for future community leaders.

Why do a Minor Degree in Community Development and Leadership?

Time: 10.00 – 11.00am
Assoc Prof Chng Huang Hoon, Director, Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre, will briefly overview the Minor Degree curriculum and make a case for how a Minor degree in community development and leadership will be a strength for NUS graduates.

Stories & Communities: Focus on People & Places
Date: 3 March 2022 (Thursday)
Time: 4.00 – 5.00pm
In “Stories & Communities: Focus on People & Places” Assoc Prof Chng Huang Hoon, Director, Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre, aims to give some insights into the curriculum and modules that CTPCLC offers. In particular, we will showcase a few community engagement projects that students at CTPCLC have engaged in and the outcomes achieved in these projects. This session therefore provides an understanding of what is involved in studying communities, what approaches are available, and what may result from specific community-based projects.

Date: 4 March 2022 (Friday)
Time: 1.00 – 2.00pm
Ms Kuah Ting Ting, Instructor, Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre, will introduce what youth engagement in Community Development entails, and invite her students to share their insights regarding this topic. This is followed by a Q&A session with prospective students.

CTPCLC Mini Tours
Looking for meaningful ways to make a positive difference in our communities? Come join our mini-tours and learn about our programmes! A goodie bag will be given to each participant at the end of the tour.
