Certificate in Community Development and Leadership Programme
Cohort AY2020/21 and after
To be awarded the Certificate in Community Development and Leadership, students must complete the 3 courses (equivalent to 16 units) listed below:
- CLC1101 Engaging and Building Communities (previously listed as CLC2101/UHB2213)
- CLC2202 Research Methods for Community Development
- CLC2203 Community Development Practicum 1 (previously listed as CLC2201)
No, there is no need to declare for the Certificate Programme.
Minor in Community Development and Leadership Programme
To be awarded a Minor in Community Development & Leadership, students from the AY2020/21 cohort onwards must fulfil a minimum of 20 units. This would require students to complete the courses listed below.
- CLC1101 Engaging and Building Communities (4 units)
- CLC2202 Research Methods for Community Development (4 units) ¹
- CLC2203 Community Development Practicum I (8 units)
- Choose any ONE elective from our elective list (4 units) ²
¹ Exemption will be granted for Sociology and Social Work Major students who have already read SC2101 or SW3101 as part of their Major requirements
² Students may choose to use a recognised course on our list to count towards the 20 units.
Students are highly encouraged to declare our Minor as early as possible but not later than the end of the fifth semester of study. Students can start enrolling for our courses from the first semester of Year 2 so as to give yourself ample time to complete the Minor (or CERT) requirements.
Yes, you can drop it via myEduRec at the beginning of a semester. Please write to marcus@nus.edu.sg should you need any assistance.
CTPCLC Courses
To register for CLC courses, please select the courses in CourseReg@EduRec. Students who are new to CourseReg are strongly encouraged to refer to the User Guide to understand the process of course registration and how to navigate and select the courses in myEduRec page.

CTPCLC offers at least three to four courses per semester. Some courses may be offered every semester, subject to teaching staff allocation. Please refer to our course timetable for the list of available courses.
