Visit from SPD Thammasat University

Thammasat University Students Visit Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre, National University of Singapore

On 11 May 2023, Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre (CTPCLC) from the National University of Singapore hosted Dr Sorasich Swangsilp, Director of the Social Policy and Development (SPD) International Programme (Thammasat University, Thailand), and his colleague Ajarn Pred Evans during their brief visit to Singapore. They brought with them 14 very enthusiastic students who engaged the CTPCLC team in a lively exchange.

Although their visit was short, it was nevertheless a great opportunity to exchange ideas on social issues such as ageing societies and public housing. Together, we hope to inspire and nurture young changemakers in our respective communities, equipping the next generation of leaders with the relevant knowledge and skills to manage the challenges facing Singapore and Thailand.

“This is an important step forward for NUS CTPCLC to forge ties with other universities in the ASEAN region. Furthermore, the exchange of ideas and perspectives will add to the continued development and growth of our Minor Degree and Certificate Programme in Community Development and Leadership.” said CTPCLC instructor, Dr Kevin S.Y. Tan.

Such exchanges add great value to all parties involved. We look forward to other opportunities to develop and deepen such exchanges with like-minded colleagues in the region and beyond, for the benefit of our students.
