Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre collaborates with a wide range of community organisations on varying issues. Our community partners include, but are not limited to, voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), foundations, government agencies, and social enterprises.
We welcome the following types of collaborations:
Community research practicums
One of the courses that we offer is the Community Development Practicum (CLC2203). The practicum provides our student fellows the opportunity to gain in-depth insight into complex community and social issues in Singapore by engaging in field research with a partner organisation.
The type of field research undertaken is dependent on the partner organisation, and varies from social impact assessment to programme evaluation to community mapping. See our publications for examples of the types of research projects undertaken by our students. Our faculty members will typically work with partners to scope the research project.
Research Collaborations
Research work sometimes cannot be undertaken within a short period. We will be happy to have a conversation with you to see how we can establish long-term research collaborations that have longer-lasting impact on the community
Our student fellows often go on internship during their holidays (mid-May to mid-August, December). Community partners interested in hiring our student fellows for internships are more than welcome to contact us.
Other engagements (e.g. events, speaking engagements, volunteering)
We are open to working with community partners in other capacities as well. This includes having community partners speak at our events or in class, attending our annual symposium, as well as having our students volunteer for partners’ events.
Please feel free to contact us at ctpclc@nus.edu.sg if you wish to partner with us in any capacity. We will be happy to work together with you to make a difference.
