In this study, a team of 7 students partnered with Beyond Social Services to conduct community mapping of 3 rental blocks within the Ghim Moh area. They conducted participant observations and semi-structured interviews with 30 residents of rental blocks and 10 representatives from organisations situated within the Ghim Moh community to ascertain the needs, assets, and aspirations of the residents living in these rental blocks. They found that while some of the residents’ needs were being met by the various organisations serving these blocks, some residents had needs that were unmet while others had a surplus of provisions that resulted in wastage. Recommendations were given to leverage the assets within the community to better meet the needs of these residents.
