Student fellows from the NUS Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre have collaborated with community organisations on ground-sensing research to ensure that the programmes and services provided by these organisations meet the needs and desires of the target beneficiaries.

In this study, Myat Thu Kyaw, Yeo Shao Jie, Nicholas Yau, and Leong Man Qing conducted surveys with residents of several neighbourhoods in the Queenstown area to understand residents’ perceptions of a new healthcare delivery model that was to be piloted at Alexandra Hospital upon their reopening on 1 June 2018. The study highlighted aspects of the model that appealed to the residents as well as the concerns that they had. Findings from the study enabled Alexandra Hospital to refine their model to better meet the needs of the residents.
