Student fellows of the Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre have conducted research to help various community organisations improve their programmes and services. In this study, Keith Low used archival research to understand the prevalence of poly-pharmacy (the use of 5 or more medications) among Ren Ci Hospital's patients. Poly-pharmacy is a big problem among older persons as a complicated medication regimen often results in decreased adherence to taking medications. From the findings, Keith identified ways in which Ren Ci Community Hospital can reduce poly-pharmacy among its patients. Click the links below to read the handout or the full report.
